Recently, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education announced The List of the First Batch of International Talent Training Brand Specialty Construction Projects in Colleges and Universities during the 14th Five-Year Plan, and the navigation technology major of our college was successfully selected. Previously, the International Education Exchange and Cooperation Office and the Academic Affairs Office organized all secondary schools to apply actively. After being reviewed by the Academic Committee of our college, we recommended two majors to be submitted to the Provincial Department of Education for selection.
The “14th Five-Year Plan International Talent Training Brand Specialty Construction Project of Colleges and Universities in Jiangsu Province is implemented by the Provincial Department of Education, which aims to guide and support colleges and universities to carry out key special construction in terms of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, Sino-foreign curriculum co-construction, international teaching staff, international academic exchanges, international talent training and so on. It is planned to select and build 100 provincial brand majors for international talent training in colleges and universities in two batches. 50 projects will be selected and approved respectively in 2021 and 2022, and the project construction cycle is 4 years. The first batch of 50 majors were approved, and more than 200 majors from more than 140 universities in the province had applied for the selection. After expert review, defense and publicity organized by the Provincial Department of Education, 35 majors in universities and 15 majors in Higher Vocational Colleges finally won the first batch of key projects.
Our college will take this opportunity to consolidate the foundation of international education, improve the international level of professional construction, expand the depth and breadth of international talent training, and make contributions to the establishment of an international well-known application-oriented maritime college.
